A bigger screen is not automatically better. The ideal projection size depends on how far you sit, how much room you have, the projector output and the type of content you watch.
What determines screen size?
Viewing distance
Your main seating position should be considered before selecting the screen diagonal or aspect ratio.
Projector brightness
As screen size increases, the same projector light is spread across a larger area.
Room width
Speaker placement, side-wall treatment and sightlines should remain practical around the screen.
Content
Movies, sports and gaming can have different preferences for size and aspect ratio.
Screen size should be designed with audio
The centre speaker, left and right speakers and acoustic treatment all need to work around the screen. This is one reason screen selection should happen before final installation rather than as an afterthought.
