4K Projector for Home Theatre: Room & Setup Guide
A 4K projector should be chosen for the room and screen as well as the resolution claim. The picture depends on ambient light, screen area, lens geometry, source settings and the projector’s operating mode.
Choose brightness for the actual image
A larger screen needs more light for the same on-screen illumination. Compare realistic operating modes and room conditions, not only maximum advertised lumens. Check manufacturer data and a demonstration where available.
Leave space to install and maintain it
Match the lens throw range to the finished screen width. Allow cabinet depth, ventilation, connector space and access to filters or consumables specified by the manufacturer.

What to consider before choosing a 4K projector
Throw distance
The projector must be compatible with the planned screen size and mounting position.
Room brightness
Ambient light can reduce perceived contrast. Room control and the right screen are important.
Screen size
A larger screen changes brightness requirements and viewing distance, so it should be planned with the room.

Source quality, projector settings and calibration influence colour, contrast and highlight detail.
