A living room home theatre must work in daylight and remain convenient for the household. Start with the existing furniture, viewing habits and light control before choosing a projector, TV or speaker package.
If curtains and lights cannot be controlled, compare a television with the proposed projector under realistic conditions. For occasional film nights, flexible projection can work if screen storage and setup are practical.
Locate the main sofa and check whether surround speakers can be placed with useful separation. A carefully configured smaller system can be more coherent than extra channels crowded into unsuitable positions.
Plan subwoofer placement and neighbour-sensitive listening levels. Acoustic panels inside the room should not be presented as a guarantee that sound will not reach adjoining homes.
Provide labelled inputs, accessible controls and a route for cable replacement. Confirm that the family can switch between television, streaming and gaming without changing several hidden settings.

A large projected image can be used when you want a cinema experience without permanently dedicating a room.
A television can pair with a carefully planned 5.1, 5.1.2 or other surround system when projection is not practical.
AV racks, concealed wiring and thoughtfully placed speakers can keep the room visually clean.
Selective acoustic treatment can improve sound without making the room look like a recording studio.
Furniture, windows, doors, ceiling height and existing electrical points all influence the best layout. SLV plans the AV system around these real-world constraints.
